Laser Interceptor 'fix' for the Laser Ally LIDAR gun?

When Laser Ally first came out Laser Interceptor could not 'see' or jam the gun. Laser Interceptor has generic jamming and in most cases this special algo will do fine against fixed pulse rate guns. For example when the Truspeed first came out at 200.3PPS LI's generic algo had no problem jamming it from the beginning. We now know the pulse rate of the LaserAlly is VPR, meaning it's a Variable Pulse Rate gun. The word on the street was Laser Interceptor was successful in purchasing 2 LA's and tried to come up with a 'fix.' It's very possible Ivan and his engineers did come out with a fix for the two models they purchased, however the engineers at Dragon held their promise from the beginning. Dragon will release new revisions of their software at any time. The only way for Laser Interceptor to keep up with the pulse rate changes is to keep on buying gun after gun after gun. The video below shows how Laser Ally is now detectable by the Interceptor, however the jamming pulse algo used is ineffective.

For Sale: Kustom Signals Prolaser IV. Finally

If you keep up with my site you'll know I like to post patents of new products, etc. Kustom Signals finally put the PL4 on there website, a LIDAR gun that looks like it's made to take names(kinda like the Laser Ally.) The Kustom Prolaser 4 is touted to have a faster processor, a smaller beam width(2.5 milirads), a comfortable pistol grip, and a range of 8000 feet! Many laser jammer hobbyists believed the Prolaser IV wouldn't come out until an anti-jam software was released with it. I've read teh specs and marketing material and Kustom Signals claims nothing of the sort its new LIDAR gun has anti-jamming capability. When I look at the Prolaser 4 I notice the OLED display, forward slant grip like the Laser Ally, and the.....oh wait nothing else. I personally love the PL3 because it's easy to shoot, but if this PL4 is nothing more than a makeup job I'd rather save my money and get a Prolaser 3, Laser Atlanta Torch, or the new LTI Truspeed S.

You can check out the new Prolaser 4 here:

http://www.kustomsignals.com/index.php/mlaser/prolaser-4

Chris

New LIDAR gun by LTI. Truspeed S hits the streets.

It comes to no surprise that LTI(Laser Technology Inc.) would release their new product around the same time their #1 competitor did. Laser Technology just released a few days ago the Truspeed S, a LIDAR speed unit that's CHEAP and uses the same housing concept as the Kustom Prolite+. LTI essentially took the housing from the TruPulse 360, also a new product this year, and equipped it to be speed enforcement ready. The Truspeed S has the same max distance of 2000', but the laser beam is a wide 3.5 milirad beam. Normal LIDAR guns are 3 milirads and the hard to jam/detect units are 2.5 milirads, meaning the beam would be 2.5 feet wide at 1000'. Why would LTI choose to go with a wider beam divergence? I have a theory.... Remember when Laser Atlanta first came out with their undetectable/jammable 'stealth mode?' Veil Guy, myself, and many other enthusiasts found out 'stealth mode' took alot longer to acquire a speed. If you increase the 'rule of squares' you get better reflections. I wonder if the new TruSpeed S has VPR technology like the TruCam?

Are you an officer that is interested in an inexpensive LIDAR gun for your department? The TruSpeed S can fit in your pocket, has 7X magnification for easy identification, and did I say it's really cheap?! Since when did LIDAR units cost less than radar guns? The TruSpeed came close and the TruSpeed S is the checkmate on the speed enforcement market. Check out LTI's newest unit at:

http://www.lasertech.com/TruSpeed-Laser-Speed-Gun.aspx?pgmode=3

- Chris

Laser Ally LIDAR Gun pulse rate leaked 185.12 pps

Laser Ally Certificate of Compliance leaked shows the following specs:

185.12 pps pulses per second(hz) The certificate says this is an average, so one would assume the pulse rate modulates like a Truspeed Euro TS or Traffipatrol XR.

The pulse width is 22.14 ns on this model. It's interesting that the pulse width can be as high as 40 ns. The new Stalker LR lidar gun is less than 30 ns.

GoL Testing. For once I agree.

"I vote to run all radar in default mode as it came new on the box." - rd.net user

"Exactly how I think each detector should be tested as Joe-consumer who is not a member of these forums will run it like that.

These extra settings are for more advanced users. Test the advance settings but I would want the advanced settings for each detector used during that test for fairness." - CrazyVolvoRob

I agree with Rob on this one(I can't believe I'm saying this!) Test the radar detectors in default mode first. If you adjust the settings on the radar detectors it can lead to a bias outcome. Testing as-is out of the box is the fairest way to go.

- Chris

Now you can test your own laser jammer

You just bought a Blinder M27, Interceptor, Laser Star Pro, Escort, etc. How do you know if you bought a 'dead on arrival' unit? Manufacturers have a 1% or less defective rate on average. Wouldn't it be terrible if you bought one of those units and received a fat ticket because your laser diode was dead? Now it's possible to test your jammer without buying a multi-thousand dollar LIDAR gun. The LE-17 Laser Tester, manufactured by Laser Elite, has the ability to mimic 17 LIDAR guns, including 100% of the popular speed laser guns in the USA. With the LE-17 Laser Jammer Tester you can test the photo diodes of your transponders. Pull out your cell phone and put it into camera mode. Next turn on the LE-17 and see if your jamming diodes fire from the transponders. It's the easiest and cost effective way to verify water or other elements haven't compromised your system. Click on the photo below and be sure your jammer isn't defective.

Laser Atlanta releases new jammer algorithms in level 4 software

IMPORTANT UPDATE 11/12/2010: Scott Patterson, CEO of DragonEye Technology, LLC was kind enough to inform me that my guess work on Laser Ally's anti-jammer software is infact not what I presumed. Mr. Patterson issued the following statement below in regards to my blog post:

“The anti-jamming technology developed and used in the LaserAlly LIDAR is proprietary to DragonEye Technology, LLC and is not licensed to or from any third party. We can understand how the timing of certain software upgrades from others might have lead to uncertainty on this issue. I would like to thank Chris and LaserJammerTests for allowing us to address the issue. Digital Ally is the exclusive distributor of the Laser Ally."

Scott Patterson

President

DragonEye Technology, LLC

5680 Oakbrook Parkway, Suite 149

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The laser jammer companies have been freaking out over the new Laser Ally speed gun because it's the latest gun to be jammer proof, <strike>however Laser Ally may have bought the licensing from Laser Atlanta. In a short period of time after Digital Ally released its new LIDAR gun, Laser Atlanta issued a press release for the new LEVEL 4 automatic upgrades on their R, B, and S SpeedLaser models. The new guns look the same, however the LIDAR manufacturer claims the following written below:</strike> *Please see update to the blog post above. The text above crossed out isn't accurate according to DragonEye Tech.

Laser Atlanta Upgrades Its SpeedLaser® Models

Norcross, GA (PRWEB) September 21, 2010

Laser Atlanta, LLC announced improvements to its product line that contain several upgrades in hardware, software, and feature sets to develop the current “Level 4” SpeedLaser.
Laser Pro Park dumped by two largest UK distributors

Maybe it's because Laser Pro Park can't defeat the Poliscan II LIDAR speed cameras, or maybe they discontinued it because LPP can't jam the SCS-103, SCS-103, Truspeed Euro, Traffipatrol XR, SL700, and other lidar guns in the UK and Europe. It seems that the final large distributors, UK Speed Traps and Radar Detector Shop UK have discontinued the sale of Laser Pro Park all together. Maybe they'll start to sell that POS product again IF Pro Park ever gets their head out of their arses and finally comes out with an update to fix all the guns they can't jam. I have to hand it to the two resellers for finally doing what's right for the consumers and that's to stop selling an inferior product that doesn't work at jamming all laser guns.

UK speeders beware of other dishonest resellers selling Laser Pro Park. Honest and reliable distributors don't carry trash like the LPP.

Since September 15th, 2009, Laser Interceptor USA has been trying to change the court location of the largest laser jammer legal battle in history. The change of venue is very important to Laser Interceptor because of the costs involved in flying to New York all the time. Clifford Crane filed for the motion on this 22nd day. I thought something was up because I wasn't able to locate the court case in New York's database. What could have happend? It then dawned on me Cliff must have won his motion to have the case put next to his house...okay the state of Florida at least. On the 29th of April the court granted Cliff's change of venue request. The details are in the pudding below:

4/29/2010 19 Case transferred in from New York Southern; Case Number 1:09-cv-07450. Original file certified copy of transfer order and docket sheet received. (Entered: 04/29/2010) 4/22/2010 18 ORDER granting 7 Motion to Change Venue. The Defendants' motion totransfer venue to the Middle District of Florida is GRANTED. The Clerk of the Court is directed to transfer the Complaint and file to the Middle District of Florida and to close the case on the docket of this Court.(Signed by Judge Barbara S. Jones on 4/21/2010) (jar) [Transferred from nysd on 4/29/2010.] (Entered: 04/22/2010)

4/22/2010

CASE TRANSFERRED OUT ELECTRONICALLY from the U.S.D.C. Southern District of New York to the United States District Court - Middle District of Florida. (tro) [Transferred from nysd on 4/29/2010.] (Entered: 04/29/2010) 4/22/2010

Transmission to Docket Assistant Clerk. Transmitted re: 18 Order on Motion to Change Venue, to the Docket Assistant Clerk for case processing.
Official retraction to an older blog post about Steve aka "happy"

On April, 29th 2009, I wrote a blog about a few laser jammer "testers" not disclosing the whole truth about their Laser Interceptor transponder failures. I spoke about one person in particular that goes by the name of "happyA$$." Shortly after I wrote that blog I received an email from Steve saying my source was incorrect and that he wasn't the one who had returned his heads numerous times. At the time I believed my source was more credible than HappyA$$ on that topic, especially since it was an embarrassing blog about himself. I've had alot of time to think about Steve's claim and I can say in good faith that I believe him. It's now my personal opinion that my source added Steve's name accidentally, OR I possibly misinterpreted the info on Steve. I was able to verify my claim against Rob with mutliple sources, but with Steve I could only get one. Since Steve told me man-to-man my claim wasn't true, and I only had one source to go back on, I hearby retract my claim on Steve/HappyA$$. Rob(CrazyVolvoRob) on the other hand is still guilty as fu*k.

Regards,

Chris

AntiLaser USA hides from Blinder International Patent Lawsuit?

Anti-Laser USA runs from Blinder International patent attorney's?

On September 4th, it was discovered that Blinder International was sueing Laser Interceptor for alleged patent infringement. Since that time, AntiLaser USA, the distributor of the ALG9/ALG8 multi-purpose laser jammer has deleted most of the content on their website(www.antilaser.us). The only remains of the site is a link to AntiLaser's Croatian HQ website. We can only speculate about the timing of this website change, but one could assume that Antilaser decided to pull the plug after they found out a federal lawsuit was filed against Laser Interceptor for patent infringement.

Is AntiLaser's ALG9 laser jammer an IP right violation of Torben Bøgh-Andersen's patent?

According to Blinder International's May 2002 patent application(10/138036), several points are made that are similar to AntiLaser's product, one specifically, a 'look up table' in the software. Below is an excerpt of the patent app details:

"a database operatively connected to the microprocessor and having stored reference values for the first frequency of at least some of a number of known monitor signals, [Note: This is the look up table] and for each of the reference values also having stored in the database a corresponding value for the second frequency of the jamming signal, an optical receiver for receiving the monitor signal, an monitor signal converter for converting the monitor signal to an electrical monitor signal and sending the signal as input to the microprocessor, a program of the microprocessor for comparing the received electrical monitor signal with the reference values of the database, selecting the corresponding second frequency, or if no reference values are found selecting the first frequency as the second frequency, and generating an electric jamming signal with the selected frequency, a jamming signal converter for receiving said electrical jamming signal from the microprocessor and converting it to the jamming signal, and an optical transmitter for transmitting said jamming signal to the laser-based speed monitor." - patent application(10/138036)

Some people think Blinder International can't do anything to other 'DIODE' based laser jammers like the Laser Interceptor, Laser Pro Park, or Anti-Laser systems because a Blinder M27/M47 utilizes 904/905nm high power LED's. Blinder's year 2002 patent application is actually for a diode based system, not IR LED. In any case it doesn't really matter what the hardware is on alleged infringing products because the knife in the belly is all in the software. The application cited here is merely an application. Torben holds the software sword in the legal world. Check out the United States Patent and Trademark Office to read about Blinder's issued patent for the 'look up table' software. It's a great read.

We have no proof Anti-Laser is being litigated right now. Maybe it's a mere coincidence Anti-Laser USA changed their website around the same time just randomly. I'm willing to bet Anti-Laser and Laser Pro Park are up next.... Stay tuned for an entertaining time in the jammer world.

- LaserJammerTests.com

p.s. This blog post is purely speculation by the author. The author and webmaster is not a patent attorney. Special thanks to a little bird for bringing this topic up.

AntiLaser ALG9 vs Policscan (Nestor) speed camera

AntiLaser jams the European Poliscan speed lidar camera, also known as Nestor Systems in the United States. The Nestor system scans multiple lanes of traffic and has the capability of ticketing multiple cars in a wolf pack. This is a nice video of the ALG9 in action, however the in-car video footage is a bit weak. The car with the laser jammer speeds up, but you can tell it slows down to the speed limit when it comes up to the camera. I would like to see the test car whizzing by all the traffic. In any case it's nice to know the Anti-Laser team can jam this gun. Laser Pro Park on the other hand doesn't officially say they can jam this gun. Just another gun to add to the list Laser Pro Park can't jam?
